It was a great rental, affordable, with great location! The unit could use some updating in comparison to other units, but when you look past what it needs, it truly is a slice of heaven. Perfect view for the sunset, and whale watching in season. Nice, quiet, private complex, plenty of parking, all the nuts and bolts you need in a condo stay. I would stay there again, if it helps anyone on the fence about another location. Great Lanai space. You can jump in the ocean right off the property. Only slight diss on the property is you have to leave to get to a beach, where some complexes nearby had their own little beach areas. Unit came with chairs if you did decide to leave the property, which was nice.

Our stay was at Hale Ono Loa 311. From the moment we walked into the unit and saw our view from the lanai, we KNEW we had chosen the perfect place for our week in Napili. Great location, very clean, lots of beach equipment for our use. Loved the nearby Farmer's Market and proximity to Kapalua. Easy drive to the blow hole. Cannot say enough good things about this complex and Unit 311. Did we mention the VIEW?!!

My husband and I enjoyed a reprieve from the damp cold weather in Oregon, the unit we stayed in was awesome. Clean, well supplied, the lanai was a great place to enjoy breakfast and evening beverages.We enjoyed watching whales, surfers and even a turtle from the sun deck adjacent to the pool. We were in close proximity to a great little beach, a nice morning walk to and along the boardwalk. The only hiccup we had was a late arrival, we were exhausted from traveling and in our rush to find the complex, we were not playing close attention to the address. There is a complex just two driveways from this that says “ Kaleialoha” which is the name of this rental company managing this property, it the same complex, in error, we thought this was where we were suppose to be and could not find the key..(because we weren’t at the right place!) It was late, we were tired, I called the owner, unfortunately, probably woke her up.. we soon realized we were at the wrong location and proceeeded to our rents unit and enjoyed the rest of our vacation,

The pool was great and the sunsets unbeatable! Location was good for us, though it is a LONG drive to central Maui or Hana if that is a consideration for you. Amenities like snorkels, beach chairs, and coolers are a nice bonus. Mostly, the best part was sitting on the lanai and enjoying the trade winds with a perfect view of the ocean.

Unit #311 is nicely updated, and conveniently located, walking distance to farmer’s market and fish market, 10 min drive to Kaanapali Beach and Whaler’s Village shopping centre and only 15 minutes to Lahaina. There are a few nice beaches very short driving distance from Hale Ono Loa. This was our first vacation rental ever that exceeded our expectations. It’s not very big, but it’s perfect for 2 people, great value for money. There is a nice ocean view from every room in this condo, lanai is very private. This unit is exactly as shown in pictures on VRBO. We booked through Kaleialoha Rentals with Lonnie Newman who was very efficient and helpful.

Nothing bad to say about our vacation experience. The ocean view from the condo was fantastic beautiful evening sunsets and we spotted a whale our last day. The condo was equipped with all essentials, clean and comfortable.
We seen turtles every day on the beach in front of the condo and we snorkeled there a few times when the tide was down and no big waves. A small reef just off the beach had a lot of fish around it.
Already saving for our next vacation and if available would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in condo 311 and loved it. The appartment was clean and modern, except perhaps the bathrooom which could use some freshening-up but was clean nevertheless. But despite the bathroom I still rate this place very high. We were comfortable inside, had an amazing view to the ocean and seaturtles just below our feet. During this vacation we stayed in some really good resorts (including Sheraton on the Big Island) but if I were to book again I would rather book a condo on each island, I just felt so good in Kaleialoha one. We just wished we could stay longer. Highly recommended!

The apartment was just as described - it is very well equipped and very comfortable with a nice big balcony. It is situated in a quite development with a lovely pool and gardens. The view of the ocean was amazing - we saw so many whales just swimming by. A real home from home.

My husband and I recently stayed at Hale Ono Loa unit 311. It was our second stay at this amazing property, our first being in Sept 2011. We loved it so much we came back this year for our honeymoon and stayed for 2 weeks! I have been traveling to Maui for the past 20 years and after discovering VRBO and this condo, I would never go back to staying in the big resorts. I absolutely love this condo. The location is perfect. I love waking up to the ocean and sitting on the lanai with my cup of coffee and a book every morning. The ocean is pretty much your backyard, and turtles are everyday visitors. If you travel in the winter you will have a front row seat to watch the whales. I would recommend this unit to anyone, it will not disappoint. I definatley can't wait for our next trip!

This was our second time staying in #311 at Hale Ono Loa. Imagine waking up and seeing the ocean from bed! And, each afternoon (late) watching the sea turtles feed out front of the complex. My husband and I found everything we needed here and in the surrounding area. Lonnie and Hodge are professional, pleasant, and make certain that everything goes smoothly. I look forward to our next stay in #311 (or another suite in the complex)!

We would like to say a huge thank-you to Lonnie for helping us to organize our stay in the beautiful room 311. My friend Tanya and I had 4 nights away together in paradise, without husbands or kids. We had the most relaxing and wonderful stay. The room was exactly as the pictures had shown. I was a bit concerned that there were no overhead fans but none were needed as the wind blew through the room beautifully each evening and the fans provided were hardly used. We woke up to the most amazing view of the ocean each morning and had drinks on the lanai while recapping our turtle filled adventures, watching the sunset each evening. We were incredibly grateful for the late check out on our last day. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the suite had everything we needed, (beach chairs would be a suggestion). We didn't actually visit the little beach nearby but did enjoy watching the resident turtles. We headed to our favorite beach Napili Bay, only a 8 minute drive. I would highly recommend the snorkeling adventure aboard the Trilogy 5, with captain Yoshi as well but you can snorkel with the turtles in Napili as well. We visited Lahaina most evenings to have dinner out but packed lunches in the coolers provided daily. We truly had the most wonderful stay and will be bringing our families back next year. The unit we stayed in was very well appointed. The full kitchen made staying in for meals very enjoyable. The view and the sound of the surf was the highlight of our unit. The walkway next to the shore made for great turtle watching. The grounds and the facilities were very well maintained.
Only two items made the rental less than perfect: 1) the shower in the bathroom is very low pressure, it's barely more than a dribble. 2) the noise from the road was irritating, especially when trying to sleep. ( a unit not backing onto the road wouldn't have this problem)

The condo was very homey for just my wife and I. The humidity was up on Sunday when we arrived, and again on Friday when we left, but the rest of the week was fabulous. The nearly constant breeze keep it very pleasant. We didn't spend a lot of time in the condo, but we thoroughly enjoyed it when we were in. Would love to come back. Hated to leave....
For a fabulous discount card on attractions, go the the Cannery Mall in Lahina, find the Wyndham Property guy in the middle of the mall, sign up and give them a $20 deposit, and sit through a 2 hr beating by Wyndham Properties. Just say NO, and the discount card will save you 45-50% on island attractions. We got a great Luau for $56 each, saving $55 each on the price, for example. Have fun and JUST SAY NO!!
